Jake Averillo is a dynamic and versatile back who joined the Dolphins on a three‑year deal beginning in 2024, following a strong rise through the ranks at the Canterbury‑Bankstown Bulldogs. Known for his speed, footwork, and ability to play multiple backline positions including centre, fullback, five‑eighth, and halfback. Averillo has become an important part of the Dolphins’ spine.

Averillo made his NRL debut for Canterbury in Round 2 on 19 March 2020, facing the North Queensland Cowboys at ANZ Stadium.

He quickly impressed, earning the Bulldogs’ Rookie of the Year award in 2020 for his breakout season.

In 2022, Averillo’s strong club form led to his selection in the Prime Minister’s XIII, where he scored a try on debut, highlighting his attacking threat and representative potential.

Upon joining the Dolphins in 2024, Averillo immediately became a key part of their backline and attacking structure. He played 23 matches in 2024, scoring 11 tries, followed by 24 matches in 2025, again crossing for 11 tries, cementing his reliability and strike power. During this period, he also celebrated a major career milestone, surpassing 100 NRL games played.

Across his NRL career to the end of 2025, Averillo has amassed 125 appearances, 53 tries, and 39 goals, reflecting his consistency and ongoing growth as a high‑impact first‑grade player.
