Player Bio
Oryn Keeley is a dynamic second-row forward for the Dolphins, emerging as one of the NRL’s most exciting young edge talents. Born in Gosford, NSW, Keeley rose through junior pathways with the Northern Lakes Warriors and The Entrance Tigers before progressing into the Newcastle Knights system.
His reputation as an elite junior was cemented through multiple representative honours, including playing for NSW Under‑16s and NSW Under‑19s, and captaining the Under‑19s side to victory in 2022. He was also awarded Player of the Match at the Brad Fittler Medal Awards that year.
Keeley made his NRL debut for the Newcastle Knights in Round 23, 2022, against the Canberra Raiders, before adding another first‑grade appearance in 2023. In October 2023, he signed a three‑year deal with the Dolphins, commencing in the 2024 season. He debuted as Dolphins player #37 in Round 7 of 2024 and went on to play six NRL matches across the season, adding another 16 appearances in 2025 with four tries.
Beyond the NRL, Keeley produced standout performances in the Queensland Cup. In 2024, he starred for the Norths Devils, helping them win the QRL Grand Final over the Redcliffe Dolphins, starting in the second row. Two weeks later, he delivered a man‑of‑the‑match performance in the NRL State Championship, scoring two second‑half tries, including the match‑winner, in a 20–18 victory against the Newtown Jets.
After continued strong development, the Melbourne Storm announced in December 2025 that Keeley had signed a two‑year deal beginning in the 2027 season, recognising him as one of the competition’s brightest young forwards.
