Player Bio
Nathan is a former New Zealand international rugby league player who enjoyed a distinguished career across the 2000s and 2010s, playing at hooker, five‑eighth and halfback. Known for his toughness, game management and competitive edge, he became one of the most reliable utilities of his generation.
Across his NRL career, Nathan played 277 first‑grade games for the North Queensland Cowboys, New Zealand Warriors, and St George Illawarra Dragons. He capped off his club career by helping the Dragons secure the 2010 NRL Premiership, contributing to one of the club’s greatest modern eras.
‘Fieny’ also reached the highest levels of representative football. He played Queensland State of Origin in 2001 and was a key member of the New Zealand Kiwis, making 22 Test appearances. His international career included winning the 2008 Rugby League World Cup, where he played a crucial role in the Kiwis’ historic triumph. He also featured in the 2010 Four Nations, scoring the match‑winning try in the final.
In addition, Nathan represented the NRL All Stars in 2012, further highlighting his reputation as a versatile and respected playmaker.
Today, Nathan continues his rugby league journey as a valued assistant coach with the Dolphins, bringing his extensive experience, leadership, and tactical knowledge to the next generation of NRL talent.
