Player Bio

Georgia Hannaway is an exciting and fast‑rising playmaker for the Cronulla‑Sutherland Sharks, bringing composure, sharp decision‑making, and a powerful long kicking game to the heart of their attack. A former Australian Rugby Sevens representative, she made the switch back to rugby league after starring in the BMD Premiership with the Norths Devils, where her form caught the attention of NRLW clubs.

Hannaway joined the Sharks on a multi‑year deal ahead of the 2024 NRLW season and quickly became a key figure in the club’s spine. After stepping into the five‑eighth role early in her rookie campaign, she guided Cronulla to their first-ever NRLW Grand Final appearance, earning the club’s Rookie of the Year award and establishing herself as one of the competition’s most influential young halves.

Her rapid rise continued in 2025. Hannaway delivered standout performances throughout the season, showcasing her kicking range, organisation, and ability to close out tight contests. She produced consistent high‑volume kicking numbers and played a decisive role in several Sharks victories, further cementing her reputation as an elite game manager.

Her club form earned her State of Origin selection, making her Queensland Maroons debut in the 2025 series and helping secure a win in Game III, an achievement that marked a major milestone in her transition from Sevens to top‑tier league play. She also reached the international stage, debuting for the Australian Prime Minister’s XIII in 2025.
